Four gardens are located on the shadow side of a number of 7-storey apartment blocks. A combination of light green bamboo and a structure of wooden deck paths created the most logical and sustainable atmosphere for these conditions. The four gardens share similar material characteristics (bamboo and wood) and functionality (sitting, watching, eating and areas to hang out or play in). However, they all have distinct spatial structures. One garden is criss-crossed with paths while another is built around a central lounge.  There is the diffuse garden in which a variety of different spatial fragments overlap in size and scale. And finally, there is one rather small garden built around a void. location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands design period: 2008-2009 implementation: 2009-2010 area: 5000 m² designed by: Juurlink[+]Geluk (Huub Juurlink, Cor Geluk, Joost de Wit, Afer Pastor-Perrachio, Mieke van der rend) in cooperation with: DG Groep commissioned by: SvenDesk Development
