The province of Limburg has designated 100 hectares of land around Maastricht Aachen Airport: Businesspark AviationValley for use as a business park. 61 hectares will be built upon while the other 39 hectares will be landscaped. In this design, the business park is absorbed into the landscape: the built-up area is divided into seven clusters, each containing a diverse business program. The resulting landscape not only serves as a unique ’address’ for the new airport terminal but, unlike most business parks, is actually pleasant to walk or cycle through when travelling to and from any of the surrounding villages. location: Beek, Meerssen, The Netherlands design period: 2003 - 2014 implementation: 2006 - area: 100 ha (61 ha development area, 39 ha landscaping + infrastructure) programm: airport related businesspark designed by: Juurlink [+] Geluk (Cor Geluk, Huub Juurlink, Christina K.
