Located besides the historical city centre of Zwolle this project incorporates local assets in order to create a balance between the small scale medieval and the large scale post war developments.
Initially the program mainly consists out social housing, but since economic times are uncertain an ingenious phasing and typology scheme makes different program build in different stages possible.
Whereas the representative side of the project is facing the historical city, the inside of the plot has its own intrinsic value as an urban courtyard that is linked with and enhances the routing for pedestrians already present in the city.
As the pressure due to parking regulations is high, an integrated parking solution is designed as a deck with private gardens on top. Routing continues over this deck and penetrating trees make sure that the informal and green character of the urban courtyard is guaranteed.
