The furniture in this park takes its inspiration from the ’small village wood’ theme. This is reflected in the material choice: thick beams of untreated oak, large stone blocks and galvanised steel. In addition there is a deer pen, a recreational climbing tower, a water playground, park benches, cycle and footbridges and the wooden decking at north end of the fishpond. This also serves as a stage for music and other entertainment during village festivals. location: Breda, The Netherlands design period: 2003 - 2007 implementation: 2006 - 2008 area: 13 ha designed by: Juurlink [+] Geluk (Cor Geluk, Huub Juurlink, Marcel vd Meys, Kristien Vanmerhaeghe) in cooperation with: Plan 3 (civil + construction engineers), BSI (tree consult) commissioned by: city of Breda photography: Jeroen Musch, Chidi Onwuka, Juurlink [+] Geluk
